Few facts about ectopic pregnancy in India:
An ectopic pregnancy in India is a pregnancy which situates outside the inner lining of the uterus.
In such pregnancy fallopian tubes are the common locations of pregnancy and characteristics of such pregnancy are: abdominal pain, irregular periods, and vaginal bleeding and only about 40 – 50% of women experience all three symptoms.
Major health issues of such pregnancies include rupture, which leads to internal bleeding.
Treatment methods include hormonal blood test and pelvic ultrasound for the establishment of ectopic pregnancy.
An ectopic pregnancy defines as the early pregnancy which occurs outside the normal location for developing pregnancy and in such cases pregnancy occurs in fallopian tubes and ectopic pregnancy cannot grow normally and it results in the death of the fetus or the embryos.
The majority of ectopic pregnancies are called tubal pregnancy as it occurs in fallopian tubes however it can also occur in other locations such as cervix, ovary and abdominal cavity.

Age: this type of pregnancy can occur in any female of any age who is ovulating and is sexually active.
