Overview
We offer comprehensive cardiac evaluation for patients who may have chest pain, shortness of breath, palpitations, feel light headed, dizziness or blacking out. Sometimes patients are referred for cardiac evaluation because they have an abnormality on a diagnostic test such as an EKG or chest x-ray. Others may have had a heart murmur detected during a physical examination. After a full examination by a cardiologists, imaging procedures may be needed for further diagnosis. At Lenoir Memorial we offer Echocardiogram, nuclear stress test, diagnostic cardiac catheterization, CT scans, and MRI of the heart.
Ambulatory monitoring of heart rhythm problems is available for patients being monitored for possible arrhythmia. Therapeutic cardiac procedures including pacemakers and internal defibrillators are available for patients who have been diagnosed with conditions warranting this type of procedures such as severe bradycardia and ventricular tachycardia.
